How To Create An Attractive Profile


After creating an account on oDesk, one thing you may think about "How to create an attractive profile?"



You should have to create your profile, good looking and also an attractive one to Employer or Buyer.


In this view an Employer or Buyer first see your Profile Picture, your account Title, your Skills,  your objectives etc.


So arrange this as much beautiful as you can to get hired by the Employer or Buyer.

This also called the “Contractor Profile” views that other Contractor and Employer will see.

To do so, you could follow the instructions step by step given below: -

After sign in to your oDesk account, go to your account & profile settings.

* In the “my account summary” section you will find “Title” where you have to type your prefer job name or title like data entry, web design, software developing etc. (But remember one thing, you must type those you could be better.)

Follow by this, you have to upload your portrait, should be must clear and attractive one.

After this, you have to set your hourly rate.


As you are beginner or in starting stage, you should keep it $1.00 or lower, you can get chance to get an interview to hire by the Employer after bidding for the jobs.



* In the “my public profile” section, 

 - set your profile public
 - select Show my full name (e.g. John Smith)
 - set your primary role
 - Enter single sentence description of your professional skills (e.g. Expert freelance Web Designer with Ajax experience)
 - set your availability hours per week
 - show your years of experience
 - Rate your English skills on a 1-to-5 scale
 - Describe your career objectives (e.g. Seeking for challenging web designing contracts focusing on eCommerce)

[i.e. here in below you will found an example of good and bad objective.]

* In “Categories”

 - Select up to 10 categories that match your professional experience.

Choosing carefully helps employers find you in the marketplace.

* Skills

Add your Skills, Years, Level etc. in skills section.

* Employment History

If you have any employment history of your own, please provide it here in details.

Otherwise leave it blank.

* Education

Add your education history details separately.

* Portfolio Projects

If you have any projects of your own that you completed, add those here.

For an example, if you set yourself as an web designer or web developer and have create any website, you should give all information with the URL of your site here.

* Certifications and Other Experiences

These should not be effect you to get any job from Employer.

But if you have those you could fill these up.
