Become a Professional Blogger You Should Learn 4 Things

It is not an easy task to become a professional blogger. You have to improve many skills. Don’t think that writing is the only skill you should have improve as a blogger. That’s why I wrote a post about 5 Skills You Should Improve as a Professional Blogger a few months back. In that post, I discussed about writing, reading, promoting, etc. But today I want to share more than it.

You know that blogging is something like a business, but it isn’t only a business. You can get manybenefits doing a blog. If we think blogging is like a business you should invest some money for your blog and you have to get profit.

Now think like this. What will happen if you don’t know even to install WordPress? You have to hire a person to install WordPress. Why do you waste your money for those type of things? That’s why you should learn following things.

1. HTML and CSS

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is the main markup language to create a web site. W3schoolsis the best place for learning HTML. You can understand W3schools tutorials very easily because their tutorials are very simple.

CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is the main style sheet language to use for web design. Specially we use CSS to design web page layout, creating we page navigation bars, changing fonts, changing backgrounds, hover effects, alignment, positioning, etc. You can learn CSS also from W3schools.

2. PHP

WordPress is a PHP script. That’s why you should learn PHP. PHP can be known as the most powerful server-side scripting language. You should have good knowledge about HTML and CSS(at least HTML) before learn PHP.

3. WordPress

Almost every professional bloggers’ recommendation is WordPress, that’s why you should alsochoose WordPress as the blogging platform.

WordPress dashboard is a very powerful dashboard. You can do many things using WordPress dashboard without knowing anything about PHP. WordPress codex is the best place to learn WordPress as well as you can find many WordPress tutorials from Google.

4. Graphic Design

I’m not saying that to be a graphic designer, but you should have this skill for at least to create an image for your own post. It is better if you can create your blog logo, Facebook cover image, etc.

Photoshop: Photoshop is the best image editing software. But as you already know it is commercial Software, So if you can’t go commercial software use another alternative for Photoshop.

Gimp: Gimp can be introduced as the best alternative for Photoshop. It is an open source software. Use YouTube to find Gimp tutorials.

Pixlr: Pixlr is an online image editing service. This is also a great tool to create images.
